Young & Renshaw - This is Young & Renshaw

All infos (and more infos) from  http://www.frankyoung.info/young-renshaw/id1.html

When, though The Toggery Five split, most of the group members continued playing in new groups or solo, in the years to come.

1967 saw Paul Young and Frank Renshaw together again under the name "The Young Brothers". The duo recorded a single for MCA, "I've Always Wanted Love" b/w "Mirror, Mirror", produced by Roger Cook and Roger Greenaway. This marked the beginning of a long-lasting business relationship between Young, Renshaw, Cook and Greenaway. They formed a publishing company together called "Grenyoco Music", and Young and Renshaw concentrated on songwriting, as well as doing sessions for a number of artists in the Cook & Greenaway stable.
In 1970 Paul Young and Frank Renshaw formed a new group as a vehicle to present and develop their own songs. This was called Young & Renshaw and comprised Paul Young on vocals and percussion, Frank Renshaw on vocals/guitar/harmonica, Graham Harrop from "Sponge" and "Pacific Drift" on bass, Ronnie Walker from "Sweet Marriage" on lead guitar, and Phil Keen, a former member of "Johnny Peters And The Crestas" and Wayne Fontana, on drums. They spent about a year in Germany writing, rehearsing and gigging  -  then returned to London and recorded an excellent country rock album with Cook & Greenaway as producers. Titled "This Is Young & Renshaw", it contained twelve Young-Renshaw originals and was released in late 1971. A few singles also saw the light of day, but sadly none of the records charted, and the group split up in 1973.

Chubby Checker - Reggae My Way / Gypsy (1973)

There's so many stories and myths  behind one lp record of Chubby Checker, that    initially only released in Europe with several titles. Check Here and Here
Totally different from any other work of Chubby, this is a psychedelic rock album Hendrix Style
and recommended by me to everyone music fun. You can take a taste of this record
in several music bloggs
Bootleg or not ,Hendrix play in this lp or not, Checker dislikes talking about the album .
From the same sessions is this 45 with two songs Reggae My Way / Gypsy
both not included in the lp .

My own copy is from Germany and as far as I know this is the only release that have a PS .

Frut - keep on truckin

This is the first lp of this group, privately  recorded back in 1971 for Trash Records.

Westbount Records at 1972.

Hooker - Rock & Roll

Hooker had been around in various configurations since 1972. First recordings began in 1974 at Rampart Studios under the direction of studio engineer Jeff Wells. Those early demos featured Hooker as a three piece hard rock/blues rock band, it wasnt until later that they began to take a decidedly heavier approach in sound and style. With the addition of Robert Hampton in place of Tim Cannon on lead/rhythm guitar, the band began to find their direction and hit the clubs hard. Influenced by bands such as Tin House, Ted Nugent, and Black Oak Arkansas, Hooker had it all on stage - flash, great songs, lots of groupies, and of course all the best drugs! Well, that couldnt last, and the band called it a day in 1983 when the lifestyle finally caught up to David Howland. The other members soldiered on in various reconstructed versions of Hooker, with varying degrees of success. The short lived post Hooker band Stallions was a highlight, with all the same elements of Hooker including three of the four members. Eventually, David would rejoin the band and Stallions became Hooker for all intents and purposes. Unfortunately, the music world had changed too dramatically since the days when a band could play the kind of loud, aggressive, dual guitar riff-rock that Hooker so convincingly played. This record represents the pinnacle of the band, the long lost 1978 Inergi Studios recordings that never saw official release all those years ago.

King George Discovery - Peace Of Mind

King George Discovery - Peace Of Mind, was recorded in Sweden in 1968 with the US musician King George Clemens on guitar & vocals.
A close friendship to Jimi Hendrix, who toured also Sweden in 1968, dropped many tracks from the release plan when the band was recording an album which also came out that year. All tracks who where competing with the music of Jimi Hendrix was not released, until now.
A collector from England found the unknown tracks who where pressed only as a demo LP for the band. What a great find. Some tracks where placed on youtube and collectors where starting raving about this album. It is soo good, the guitar work is amazing, as psychedelic as it can get.

SHAW ALLEN SHAW - This Side That Side & South Fork Crow Rive

from ACID ARCHIVES

A dorky-looking early 1970s trio with acoustic guitars ,
electric bass, and drums.
The band (using an expanded setting) played local ballrooms and lounges which explains the odd cover selection, ranging from acoustic folk to  things like "Long Tall Texan" and "Games People Play".
There are also Dylan And Beatles covers, along with two band originals. The albums rarity may be more noteworthy than any overt musical qualities.
The band was known as The defiants During the teenbeat era, and in 1972 recorded a second album , "South Fork Crow River".

from MIKE MUSICLOVER
The  "This Side , That Side " lp hasn't something special exept the
"High Flyin Bird " and 2-3 more songs
Mike Shaw - Bass and Vocals
Terry Shaw - Drums and Vocals
JIm Allen -     Guitar and Vocals

"South Fork Crow River" lp for me it's much better .
Same line-up plus Dewey Larson on keyboards, harmonica and vocals.
"Love is Gone" was written by Dennis Shaw, yet another Shaw brother.

EUGENE CARNAN - S/T (1972)

Here is a great surprise for us. An unknown UK album with such a great musical potential. Musically it is a very powerful guitar dominated underground rock such as Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer, Dark or Grannie. The rarety factor is way above all those other rare UK album, which stay in low pressings of 99 copies and 15-20 such as Dark. This one has been pressed only 4 times ever. In September 1971 Eugene Carnan entered a UK-wide competition for “Best New Band” run by the famous Melody Maker magazine, they recorded the album in 1972 and took it to London to Eden Studios for a demo pressing and cut 4 acetates. Eugene Carnan a 3 piece band are from The Rhondda Valley, in South Wales, UK with guitar & vocals, bass and drums. All own composition. A killer album from beginning to end.
